Astana to host int'l forum "For a nuclear-free world" on Oct 12-13

ASTANA. June 29. KAZINFORM /Askar Bimendin/ Today Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev having talks with Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Tibor Toth has announced the date of the international forum "For a nuclear-free world" set for October this year.

"This year we mark the 20^th anniversary of the shutting down of the Semipalatinsk nuclear testing site. On October 12-13 this year we plan to host the international forum "For a nuclear-free world" involving leaders and activists of the non-proliferation movement from all over the world. The Kazakh President is expected to address the forum," Mr Saudabayev said.

The Kazakh Secretary of State on behalf of the Head of State has invited Tibor Toth to take part in that very significant event.
