ASTANA. February 25. KAZINFORM /Zhanna Korkitova/ The 2nd meeting of the Joint Coordination Council for cooperation with the Kingdom of Belgium in the sphere of healthcare convened in Astana at the National Scientific Centre for Maternity and Childhood.

As earlier reported, last October the parties signed a memo of cooperation in order to strengthen partnership and use the Belgian hospital administration practice in Kazakhstan.

Those attending focused today on introduction of modern Belgian technologies in Kazakhstan, and development of nuclear medicine and radiosurgery.

Kazakhstan announced its intentions to set up and expand the list of services of a nuclear medicine and radiosurgery centre in Astana taking into account the Belgian progressive experience. The project is called to create a centre which is to shift from diagnostics to overall treatment and rehabilitation of patients who underwent chemical therapy.
