Astana Mayor handed invitations to IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Moscow

MOSCOW. March 25. KAZINFORM Mayor of Astana city Imangali Tasmagambetov handed in Moscow the heads of the largest religious confessions of Russia invitations of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.  

Officials of the Kazakh Embassy to Russia and Kazakh Agency for Religious Affairs attended the ceremony on March 24.

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia accepting the invitation noted that his visit to the blessed Kazakh land afforded a pleasant reminiscence. "I would like to express gratitude to Kazakhstan authorities for maintaining the high-level of interethnic and interfaith relations in the country," he stated.

Later in the day the Kazakh delegation met with Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdin.

"We highly appreciate Kazakhstan's role in building peace, good neighborhood, mutual understanding and a dialogue between the nations, religions and countries. I am sincerely grateful for the invitation," Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdin said accepting the invitation.
