Astana Cycling Team wins Giro d'Italia race, Vinokourov sends congrats to Kazakhstan

ASTANA. June 4. KAZINFORM General manager of UCI ProTeam Astana and London Olympic champion Alexander Vinokourov has sent a letter of congratulations to Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazinform refers to president's press service.

In his letter the former Kazakhstani professional bicycle rider congratulates Nursultan Nazarbayev and all people of Kazakhstan on Astana Cycling Team winning the cycle race Giro d'Italia.

"This big achievement has once again proved that Kazakhstan is an honorable member of the global sports community," the letter reads.

The letter also says 'at the moment, UCI ProTeam Astana is one of the strongest cycling teams out there and the latest victory has proved it.'

"'Astana' is the internationally recognized brand and we are proud that Kazakhstani riders make their contribution by representing our countries and its young capital abroad," A.Vinokourov writes.
