Cancer mortality downtrend is observed following the results of 2010 though the early exposing of oncological diseases leaves much to be desired. A few times rising of cancer death rates in Astana city arises concern of the medical professionals," deputy head of the Astana healthcare department Laura Akhmetniyazova told at roundtable.

Screening programs to detect cancer early will be implemented this year. Breast and screening centers are open on the ground of the Cancer Detection Center to provide comprehensive treatment.

Breast cancer ranks first among the malignant tumor morbidity, then comes lungs cancer, gastric cancer, skin cancer and segmented intestine cancer.

As the World Health Organization says, 40% of oncological diseases can be prevented through sensible nutrition, active lifestyle and smoking cessation.
