Asian Games - triumph of strength, beauty and honor, Nursultan Nazarbayev

ALMATY. February 6. KAZINFORM. /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ "The last day of the 7th Asian Games comes to an end and passes into history," President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev told delivering a speech at the closing ceremony of the Asiad - 2011 in Almaty.

"The Asian Games became the big event in the international life of Kazakhstan. We witnessed vivid and spectacular events during those days. The world saw Kazakhstan once again, our sporting opportunities. The best athletes of Asia from 27 countries contested for 69 sets of medals which is a record. I would like to congratulate our sportsmen on the bright victory," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

"Today, Kazakhstan ranks among the continental powers able to host high-level competitions. Asiad is a true triumph of strength, beauty and honor. We could make the sports festival a holiday of peace and friendship," Nursultan Nazarbayev added.
