ANET BABA KISHIKULY (1626/28-1723) is a bi, scientist and legal scholar, advisor to Tauke Khan. Anet Kishikuly graduated from Bukhara madrasah. He had a perfect knowledge of Shari'ah - fundamental religious concept of Islam, participated in development of the norms of Zheti Zhargy common law defining the main principles of the Kazakh feudal law.

Anet   Kishikuly stood for freedom, independence and integrity of the Motherland, for unity and cohesion of the nation. For this he was called Anet Baba which is referred to "elder" in the Kazakh language.

Anet Baba was strictly guided by the rules of Zheti Zhargy and adopted decisions on large disputes and disagreements in accordance with the law. He assessed Kazakh Orda's foreign and domestic relations on the basis of Zheti Zhargy provisions.

Anet Baba was a spiritual advisor to three famous Kazakh bis - Tole bi Alibekuly, Kazybek bi Keldibekuly and Aiteke Bi Baidibekuly. He taught them to be defenders of truth and enemies of unfairness and became a great educator, wise teacher and "elder brother" for them.

Anet Baba's name is mentioned in Shakarim's famous poem "Kalkaman-Mamyr".

Anet Baba lived long life. At the age of 97 he and his five sons died in national liberation struggle against Dzhungar invaders.
