Almaty to welcome int'l conference "10 years on the Way of Security and Cooperation"

ASTANA. February 15. KAZINFORM. An international conference "10 years on the Way of Security and Cooperation" will take place under the auspices of Kazakhstan's chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Almaty on February 22-23.

The gathering will provide a platform for exchange of opinions on issues such as regional security, prospects of expanding the SCO, counteraction to drug threats and other modern challenges, as well as prevention of technogenic and natural disasters in the region. The conference is one of the preliminary events preceding the SCO Summit in Astana now scheduled for June 15, 2011, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry's press service reports.
