Almaty to put ultramodern perinatal centre into service

ALMATY. March 29. KAZINFORM Today Almaty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov has got familiarized with the construction process and preparations for putting the city perinatal centre into operation, the Mayor's press service reports.

The 150-bed centre is an ultramodern maternity house for treating pregnant women in high risk group. The centre is called to fight for the life and health of mothers and infants, its services will range from preserving and recovering women's fertility, to nursing and treating infants weighing 500 grams and more.

Doctors and nurses study in the best hospitals of CIS and non-CIS states. A brigade of children's surgeons passed graduate education in the best cardiological centers of Russia - Tyumen and Novosibirsk. Resuscitators and anesthesiologists passed training in Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Bergamo and Berlin.

The centre is expected to open its doors this June. It will be the 8th health care institution built in Almaty for the past two years. Two more health care facilities will be open by the year-end. All the hospitals are advanced and meet the international standards.
