Almaty, Dominican Republic eye cooperation in tourism, investments

ALMATY. September 7. KAZINFORM Mayor of Almaty city Akhmetzhan Yessimov received a delegation from the Dominican Republic that had come to Kazakhstan for an official visit for the first time ever.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to India and Kazakhstan, consul and businessmen were part of the delegation.

The meeting focused on the development of relations between our countries and establishment of direct business contacts.

According to Ambassador Hans Dannenberg, Kazakhstan boasts high tourism potential and the Dominican Republic is ready to cooperate with Kazakhstan in the field of tourism and investments. The diplomat also noted that tourism industry was on the rise in his country. With population of 9 million people, the Dominican Republic is visited by approximately 6 million tourists every year.

In addition, mayor of Almaty city backed foreign guests' proposal on setting up joint enterprises in the field of tourism and investments.
