ASTANA. KAZINFORM - According to the results of the study carried out by "Great Value Colleges" international organization, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has entered the Top 50 most technologically advanced universities in the world, the press service of the university informs.

"Great Value Colleges" uses a multi-faceted approach in establishing the world rankings of universities, helping people in picking the right college to get quality education. People should take into account university's national, regional and international awards for technology or innovation; specialized laboratories or research centers; research unit.

Today Al-Farabi Kazakh National University - is the largest scientific and educational institution of the country, which brings together eight research institutes, more than 30 centers and laboratories. The lion's share of publicly funded research is carried out within the walls of the KNU, 10% of these funds go for the support of young scientists. It should be noted that over the last three years research and development activities carried out by the University increased by almost three times. Scientific efforts of the KNU scientists are published in famous journals included in the database "Scopus" and "Thomson Reuters". Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is he first and the only one Kazakhstani university which was awarded special diploma "For outstanding achievements in the field of science" by the international agency "Thomson Reuters".

Special international recognition of scientific and technological potential of the university is proved by the established in the university educational and research centers and laboratories of world-renowned companies "Hewlett-Packard", "Cisco", "Intel", "Konica Minolta", "Microsoft". Together with partners from USA, UK, China, Germany, Finland, Japan and other countries KNU carries out 56 major international research projects funded by INTAS, IAEA, EU, NATO, the World Bank, and UNESCO.

Last year, on the basis of the ranking of the rating agency QS (UK), KNU entered the Top 300 best universities in the world, taking 299th place. Moreover, according to experts of the highest rank of the European Union, KNU is the undisputed leader among universities in Kazakhstan on scientific and technological and innovation potential.
