Air Astana launches new Astana-St Petersburg flight

ASTANA. June 11. KAZINFORM National air carrier Air Astana Company will launch a new flight from Astana (Kazakhstan) to Saint Petersburg (Russia) as of June 13, company's press service says.

The flight will be operated twice a week via Embraer 190 aircraft with passenger capacity of 97 people. "This will be the eighth route of Air Astana Company to the Russian Federation and the second flight to Saint Petersburg. This direct flight will be a time and money saver for our clients," Air Astana press release reads.

Air Astana Company operates the Almaty - Saint Petersburg flight via Airbus A320 airplane three times a week since December 2, 2010.

The launch of the new Astana-Saint Petersburg flight is dated to the 10th jubilee of the company. On the occasion of its anniversary the national air carrier offers its clients nine new international flights. The company is expected to open new flights from Astana to Beijing, Omsk, and Tbilisi, from Almaty to Hong Kong and from Atyrau to Moscow in the nearest future.

The cost of the air ticket from Astana to Saint Petersburg will vary depending on the class. It will take Air Astana clients four hours and twenty minutes to get from Astana to Saint Petersburg.
