Agenda of CIS Ministerial Council to be discussed in Minsk on 8 February

MINSK. February 8. KAZINFORM. A session of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS member states at charter and other bodies of the CIS is to be held in Minsk on 8 February, BelTA learnt from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The permanent representatives are going to draw the agenda of the session of the CIS Ministerial Council that will take place in Kyiv in April 2011. The Ministerial Council is to mull over 20 draft documents regulating cooperation within the CIS.

The foreign ministers are to discuss a draft statement of the CIS heads of state on occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States and their address to the peoples of the CIS and the international community on occasion of the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The session of the Ministerial Council will feature issues related to security, migration, culture and science, youth policy and education.

The CIS permanent representatives will also discuss the agenda of the session of the CIS Council of Heads of Government that will take place in Minsk on 20 May 2011. The agenda is expected to include issues related to the free trade zones, innovation cooperation, food security, consumer rights, peaceful use of atomic energy.
