Academicians of Kazakhstan support Nursultan Nazarbayev’s participation in presidential race
"The National Academy of Sciences supports the decision of the Congress of Nur Otan Party to nominate Nursultan Nazarbayev as its presidential candidate," said the president of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Zhurinov. He recalled that in 2011 the academy awarded Nursultan Nazarbayev the highest academic degree "Gasyr gulamasy" for his research developments aimed at transferring the country's planned economy to market. According to his words, President Nazarbayev had to develop not only the theoretical basis but practical advice. "Kazakhstan has achieved great heights. Firstly, it has become a recognizable country. Secondly, we produce products worth USD 186 billion. For comparison, the four Central Asian countries - Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan together produce goods equaled to USD 81 billion. Four countries' production does not reach even half of this volume," said the academician. M.Zhurinov has touched upon the new economic policy initiated by Nursultan Nazarbayev - Nurly Zhol. It bears to remind that March 11 at the 16th Congress of Nur Otan Party decided to nominate Nursultan Nazarbayev as a candidate for President of Kazakhstan. All participants of the Congress unanimously voted for the decision. Early presidential elections will be held in April 26, 2015.
