A trip to Kazakhstan made a great impression on me, IOC President Jacques Rogge

ALMATY. February 1. KAZINFORM. /Aigul Turysbekova/ "An opening ceremony of the VII Asian Games was an outstanding sporting event," International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge told journalists in Almaty.

According to Jacques Rogge, the trip to Kazakhstan made a great impression on him. Lots of new sports facilities, including an international complex of ski jumps were built in Kazakhstan. The country ensured to-quality Asian Games arena.

During the meetings with the country's leadership the IOC President got ascertained in Kazakhstan's intention to develop sport in the country.

"Kazakhstan targets to bid for the Olympic Games in 2022. It is the matter of time. Corresponding to the Olympic movement standards you have all environmental conditions and infrastructure to host winter games. But you have to take into account that strong rivals will bid for the games."
