2nd Central Asian Internet Development Forum to convene in Almaty

ASTANA. June 1. KAZINFORM 2nd Central Asian Internet development Forum will take place on June 23-24 in Almaty. It is organized by OSCE Centre in Astana, Delegation of the European Union to Kazakhstan, "MediaNet" International Centre of Journalism, the Soros Foundation Kazakhstan and Media Alliance of Kazakhstan.

The two-day forum will involve a diverse group of stakeholders in discussions on regional Internet-related issues. The event will bring together young journalists, civil society representatives and government officials, international organizations and independent researchers, as well as international experts and a number of the most active Internet users and advocates (e.g. bloggers), the press service of the OSCE Centre in Astana reports.

Participants will speak about a variety of topics including: the Internet and freedom of expression, governmental regulation of the Internet, business aspects of the Internet, and local electronic media content.
