24 drunk drivers detained in Astana during holiday

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Over the last three days of the holiday - International Women's Day - traffic police have revealed 2461 violations of traffic rules in the city of Astana, according to the Office of Administrative Police under Metropolitan Department of Internal Affairs.

24 drivers have been detained for driving while intoxicated. Traffic police officers have fined 305 drivers for speeding. There were identified 258 drivers who ignored the mandatory requirement of using seat belts, 181 arrested for talking on a cell phone while driving. In addition, the 90 facts of crossing on a red light and 35 violations related to the creation of an emergency were registered in the country during the days off. 21 vehicles of offenders were sent to an impound yard. 424 pedestrians have been brought to responsibility for traffic violations.
