KOKSHETAU. KAZINFORM 160 people, including 120 pupils were evacuated as bromine spills over at one of the schools of the Burabai district, Akmola region, the regional emergencies department said.

The accident occurred today at 14:07 when the lessons have started. Bromine is a naturally occurring element that is a liquid at room temperature. It has a brownish-red color with a bleach-like odor, and it dissolves in water. Getting bromine liquid or gas on skin could cause skin irritation and burns. Its vapors are highly poisonous.
