ASTANA. April 4. KAZINFORM Majilis approved a draft law "On ratification of the Agreement between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates on extradition of criminals" at its plenary session on Wednesday.

"The Agreement regulates issues of Kazakh-UAE cooperation in the sphere of combating crime, in particular extradition of wanted persons, defines conditions and the order of providing custody and the procedure of criminals' transfer to enforcement agencies of the two states," First Deputy Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Iogan Merkel said presenting the draft.

According to him, at present some people, who committed crimes on the territory of Kazakhstan, including the former chairman of the Kazakh Statistics Agency hide away in the UAE.
