Kazakh and Russian presidents share views on countries' economies development within Customs Union
 UST-KAMENOGORST. September 7. KAZINFORM /Lyudmila Malko/ Nursultan Nazarbayev and Dmitry Medvedev shared their views on problems of development of economies in light of new relations within the Customs Union at the plenary sitting of the 7th Forum of Kazakh-Russian Inter-Regional Cooperation in Ust-Kamenogorsk.

 According to Medvedev, the modernization of economy is the prior goal for both countries. 'Processing raw materials is not our way', D. Medvedev said.

In his turn, N. Nazarbayev proposed several initiatives that would help in solving current problems that hampered dynamic development of the relations between the countries. One of the initiatives was the establishment of the joint institutions against technological disasters and development of real measurers to help.

According to the Kazakh President, Kazakhstan and Russia must never let happen anything like the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. 'We have to prevent Caspian region from such disasters', the President noted.

The following initiatives of the Kazakh side were about mutual projects on trans-boundary water ways (Ural-Irtysh), about technical regulation, transport logistics, etc.
