UST-KAMENOGORSK. September 6. KAZINFORM /Lyudmila Malko/ Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has taken part in a teleconference between Kazzinc and Novo-Shirokinsky Mine workers. 

General Director of Novo-Shirokinsky Mine Sergey Yakimov noted that the complex had almost two decades of downtime in recent past and the main task they had was to preserve what the complex had had before. 'Fortunately, the investors came up with a unique project: Rusdragmet and Kazzinc. The major reconstruction has been held here in less than three years. Currently, our complex is on the way to increase the volume of production (the minefield produces zinc, lead, gold and silver). Social and migration problems of the region are successfully solved now', S. Yakimov said to Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Besides, he noted that the workers of the mine were the residents from Zabaykalsky region and specialists from Kazakhstan. 'Taking this opportunity we would like to congratulate you on successful realization of the first Kazakh-Russian project on metallurgy in our region. We hope it is going to be just a beginning for many other likewise projects. Through joining efforts we are able to achieve more', S. Yakimov.

Addressing to the workers of the joint Kazakh-Russian complex Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said: 'We have gathered here in Ust-Kamenogorsk for holding the Kazakh-Russian Forum and tomorrow we will summarize the results of work. Now we are in a Single Customs Union with you. We have a lot of joint enterprises and now Russia also has Kazakh investors.'

'I wish you success and well-being', Kazakh President said to the miners at the end of the teleconference.
