04 September 2010, 16:51 Strengthening of trade economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Malaysia discussed in Kuala Lumpur ASTANA. September 4. KAZINFORM Kazakh Ambassador to Malaysia Beibut Atamkulov met with president of Malaysian Trade Development Corporation Dato' Noharuddin Nordin on September 2 in Kuala Lumpur. The sides discussed the issues on expanding and strengthening trade economic cooperation of Kazakhstan and Malaysia, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan informs. The Kazakh Ambassador introduced the main directions of the State Force Industrial-Innovation Development Program for 2010-2014 to N. Nordin and informed him about the establishment of the Customs Union between Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus and the transit transportation potential of Kazakhstan for Malaysia to deliver their goods to markets of the CIS countries and Europe. N. Nordin noted that the interest of Malaysian investors to Kazakhstan was constantly growing. In this regard he told about their intentions to open a regional representation of the Corporation for Central Asia in Kazakhstan. Touching upon the prospects of trade economic cooperation Kazakh Ambassador suggested considering the Special Economic Zone 'Seaport Aktau' and the International Center of Boundary Cooperation 'Khorgos' as future points for exports of Malaysian goods to the CIS countries. Taking into account that currently more than two thousand Kazakh students study in Malaysia the Ambassador proposed to consider the opportunities for them to pass their externship at industrial and technological companies of Malaysia.
