ASTANA. August 30. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Constitution is a gold foundation of statehood. This is how Kazakh President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Nursultan Nazarbayev describes the role of the Constitution.

"The constitution is an essential symbol of citizenship showing the right course for promising future, a gold foundation of our statehood, source of all our achievements", N. Nazarbayev said opening a parade devoted to the 15^th anniversary of the Kazakhstan's Constitution.

He noted that thanks to the Constitution we held major political and economic reforms, formed a model of interethnic accord in multinational Kazakhstan. We had overcome many difficulties due to our unity", the Head of the State emphasized.

He also stressed that Kazakhstan's authority in the international arena was growing owing to the Constitution. "This year Kazakhstan chairs the OSCE. Astana will host the OSCE Summit in autumn. For the first time in its history Kazakhstan has reached such a high position in the world", the Kazakh leader noted.
