27 August 2010, 14:25 Kazakhstan to host SCO joint anti-terrorism drills 'Peace Mission 2010' ALMATY. August 27. KAZINFORM Joint military anti-terrorism exercises Peace Mission 2010 are to take place at Matybulak polygon in September. The Armed Forces of the SCO member states will participate in the drills. The first stage of the drills is to be held in Almaty. The next stages of the exercises will take place at Matybulak polygon which is properly equipped for the drills now. The participants will live in polygon as well. The number of them is more than 3000 people. The participants from Kazakh side are now arriving at the region of exercises. This event is to become the beginning of an official opening of the joint military anti-terrorism exercises Peace Mission 2010 with the Armed Forces of the SCO member states taking part in it. The main goal at the time of today is holding military and political consultations and signing operational tasks. The group of officers of the central apparatus of the Ministry of Defense is sent from Astana to Almaty to fulfill the goal. These events are the priority at the time of today.
