20 August 2010, 17:15 Yerevan students got opportunity to study Kazakh language ASTANA. August 20. KAZINFORM A Center of Kazakh Language, History and Culture under the Yerevan State University (YSU) was opened Thursday. A Memo on cooperation between the L.Gumilyev Eurasian National University and the YSU was signed at the opening ceremony as well, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports. Kazakh Ambassador to Armenia Aimdos Bozjigitov, Rector of the L.Gumilyev Eurasian National University Bakytzhan Abdraimov, Rector of the Kokshetau State University Shakirashrip Ibrayev, members of the YSU Scientific Council, deputies of the Armenian National Assembly, representatives of the Ministries and departments of Armenia, diplomatic corpse and mass media took part in the ceremony. After symbolic ribbon cut Rector of the YSU Aram Simonyan congratulated the guests on such event noting that Center of a Turkic-speaking state has been opened in Armenia for the first time. He expressed an intention to make Kazakh language the second language in the department of turcology of the University. A.Bozjigitov noted that the opening of the Center was held prior to the visit of the Kazakh President to Armenia thus created necessary favorable background for the negotiations of the Heads of two states. Director of the Institute of Literature of the Armenian National Academy of Science Awik Isaakian joining the congratulations told about the friendship of hid grandfather poet Awetik Isaakian with Kazakh poet Mukhtar Auezov. He suggested considering an opportunity of publishing a collection of works of Kazakh classics in Armenian language and Armenian classics in Kazakh language. Prospects for further development of the Center of Kazakh Language, History and Culture were also discussed within the event. Comments (0)
