KAZINFORM /Yekaterina Ionova/ Today in Almaty Kazakh Prosecutor General Kairat Mami has chaired a sitting on the issues of implementation of the Presidential Decree on the forthcoming measures aimed at increasing efficiency of the law-enforcement system in Kazakhstan. K. Mami emphasized the relevance of the coming modernization. "The document raises responsibility of the law-enforcement bodies and judges. Committing crimes by law-enforcement officers and judges through abuse of their position will be recognized as an aggravating circumstance. The measures also provide for elimination of the fact of unreasonable interfere of law-enforcement bodies into the activity of business entities through reduction of the number of state bodies having right to inspect business entities", the Prosecutor General said. He pointed out some shortcomings in the work of the law-enforcement and judicial bodies. "The level of crime increased by 14% in Kazakhstan, whereas in Almaty by 50% and in Almaty region by 30%", K. Mami said. He urged the chiefs of the law-enforcement agencies together with executive bodies to ensure proper implementation of the Presidential Decree. The heads of the law-enforcement bodies, supervision agencies, executive bodies and courts of Almaty city and Almaty region as well as representatives of Nur Otan Party attended the sitting.
