ASTANA. August 14. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ On the eve of the Day of Sport in Kazakhstan the Kazakh Minister of Tourism and Sport Temirkhan Dosmukhanbetov congratulated Kazakhstanis and handed over badges of honor, diplomas and letters of gratitude to honored figures of physical culture and sport.

"The Head of the State set a task to attract 30% of the population to ass sport in order to raise a healthy nation", the Minister said.

According to him, today only 16% of the population is indulged in sports. "We must increase this figure by 30%, as long as the development of industry, economy, agriculture needs healthy people", the Head of the Ministry said.

The Day of Sport in Kazakhstan is celebrated in the third Sunday of August in accordance with the Decree of the President.
