Germany intends to support initiatives of Kazakhstan on conservation of biodiversity in region: German Ambassador
ASTANA. April 12. KAZINFORM /Murat Zhakeyev/ "Germany intends to support the environment-oriented initiatives of Kazakhstan on conservation of biodiversity in the region", German Ambassador to Kazakhstan Rainer Schlageter has said today at the opening of "Altyn Dala - Golden Steppe" exhibition in Astana.

"The steppes and semi-deserts of Kazakhstan are of great importance for the world community. The biodiversity and ecology of the region remains poorly studied", the Ambassador said.

According to Rainer Schlageter, non-experts can hardly understand how new partnership initiative of national and international environmental organizations "Altyn Dala" functions. He said that it is possible to get acquainted with the activity of the German society and other organizations on technical cooperation.

Project area of the "Altyn Dala" Conservation Initiative is a new partnership initiative of national and international environmental organizations. It is aimed at conservation of steppe and semi-desert ecological zones of Kazakhstan and key types of animals inhabiting them.
