ASTANA. March 18. KAZINFORM Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met with Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Kazakhstan Saber Azam today, Kazinform refers to the press service of the House.

Topical issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UNHCR were discussed at the meeting.

"We appreciate the activity of the UNHCR aimed at stabilization and improvement of the situation with refugees. Protection of rights of refugees and migrants is one of the prior goals of our country", K.Tokayev said.

According to the Speaker, Kazakhstan lays emphasis on cooperation with neighboring countries in struggle against migration, human trafficking and organized crime.

K.Tokayev informed S.Azam on holding the Trans Asian Parliamentary Forum "Eurasian Dimension of the OSCE" in Almaty in May this year and invited representatives of the UNHCR to take part in the event.

S.Azam expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side for cooperation with the UNHCR and spoke for further development of bilateral relations.
