Kazakh PM informed President of situation in Almaty region
ASTANA. March 13. KAZINFORM. Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has informed the Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev of the situation in Aksu municipality of Almaty region, where as a result of the  reservoir dam break the village of Kyzyl-Agash was flooded.

As K. Massimov noted, due to increased rainfall and some other reasons the dam was broken at Kyzyl-Agash reservoir, located in the Aksu district, on March 11 at about 10 p.m. According to the local authorities for emergency situations, all local residents were notified of the danger prior to the incident.

"However, the fact was that firstly, not everyone was notified, and secondly, not everyone took it seriously. About 320 people were evacuated before the accident, while the rest people remained. The issue if under investigation at present", the Premier said.

To date, all people have been evacuated and settled in hostels and barracks. All injured were rendered first aid.

"According to your instruction, I held a session with the members of the Governmental Commission, Akim of the region and representatives of the akimat yesterday. Operational issues are almost resolved. The Resolution of the Government is already prepared and resources will be allocated from the reserve on Monday", K. Massimov resumed.
