ASTANA. March 12. KAZINFORM. Opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which will work within the German federal lands of Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, took place in the city of Dresden; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry's press service.

Kazakh Ambassador to Germany Nurlan Onzhanov presented a consular patent to new representative of Kazakhstan Joachim Engelmann and wished him success in development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Germany.

Saxony State Minister for Economic Affairs, Labor, and Transport, Mr. Sven Morlok noted significant potential of cooperation with Kazakhstan that would be activated by the Year of Germany in Kazakhstan-2010. He called on Saxony's businessmen to use opportunities of the honorary consulate for establishing contacts and implementation of joint projects with Kazakhstan.

Detlef Sittel, the Mayor of the City of Dresden, emphasized wide opportunities for deepening cooperation of Saxony and Kazakh enterprises in various sectors of economy, particularly in chemical industry, automobile production, biotechnology, microelectronics, pharmacy, agriculture.
