KAZINFORM /Timur Bekturganov/ Dunja Mijatovic, a well-experienced defender from Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been appointed new Representative of the OSCE on Freedom of Media, the Organization's press service informs. "Appointment of Dunja Mijatovic to the post of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of Media is a unanimous decision of all OSCE member countries which demonstrates our common commitment to further progress in promoting the freedom of media," OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Secretary of State - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev said. "We wish Dunja Mijatovic success in this important job and call on all OSCE states to render her all needed support in her activity." D. Mijatovic is a recognized expert in media law and regulation. In 1998 she was involved in creation of legal framework for media in postwar Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2007 she took the office of the Chairman of the European Platform of Regulatory Bodies and became the first woman at this post. Comments (0)
