ASTANA.  March 5. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ Deputy of the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament Zagipa Baliyev proposes to introduce new holidays in Kazakhstan - Mother's Day and Father's Day.

"Let us introduce new holidays - Mother's Day and Father's Day, since the role and ideology of family has always been discussed on top level. The Mother's Day can be marked on the first Saturday or Sunday of April while the Father's Day can be celebrated on the first Saturday or Sunday of another month", Z. Baliyeva said at a ceremonial meeting dedicated to the International Women's Day in the office of Nur Otan People's Democratic Party.

As she noted, "children must realize the role and importance of mother and father". According to her, women deputies plan to submit this idea to the Parliament's consideration soon. "We hope the Party will support this initiative", the deputy considers.

First Vice Chairman of Nur Otan Nurlan Nigmatullin took this idea positively. "To my mind this is a good proposition on the threshold of March 8. The Party will consider this initiative", N. Nigmatullin said.

"Honoring women, mothers could contribute to strengthening our statehood, Kazakh culture and traditions, because Mother embodies beginning of life, basis of education and family traditions", Senator Svetlana Dzhalmagambetova noted.
