KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ The Commonwealth of Independent States is ready today for more active work and fierce debates on its future, First Vice Chairman of the Russian Government Igor Shuvalov has said in the course of the CIS International Economic Forum in Moscow today. "Our Commonwealth is criticized for a number of deficiencies today. These reproaches are just, on the other side the CIS is a quite valuable and important organization for all post-Soviet states. However its activity needs some changes. Today we are ready to move ahead towards modernization of the principles of our interaction. The CIS is ready for more active work including fierce discussions on its future. In this view, the Russian side proposes new initiatives in the CIS", I. Shuvalov said. According to him, chairmanship of Russia in the CIS will be useful for giving new impulses through realization of a number of certain initiatives. Among them is acceleration and completion of the work on establishment of the CIS free trade zone; regulation of migration issues; regulation of the sphere of energy and raising energy-efficiency on the CIS space; improvement of infrastructure of cooperation in financial, transport and other spheres; raising efficiency of the agreements concluded within the CIS.
