ASTANA. March 4. KAZINFORM. /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakhstan considers Latvia as an important partner in many spheres. Secretary of the Committee for Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security of the Majilis of the Kazakhstan Parliament Viktor Rogalyov has said it at a meeting with Secretary of State of Latvian Foreign Ministry Andris Teikmanis.

V. Rogalyov told the guest about the structure and work of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.

Talking about the aspects of cooperation he pointed out the opportunity for Kazakhstanis to study at the Riga Institute of Air Navigation within the framework of Bolashak Program.

Mr. Teikmanis, in his turn, noted that Latvia attaches special significance to the relations with Kazakhstan. "Our Parliament is interested in development of cooperation with Kazakhstani colleagues", he said. He also emphasized that Latvia supported all initiatives of Kazakhstan as OSCE Chair.

Mr. Teikmanis reminded of the agreement concluded between the two states on cooperation in the field of transport and expressed hope for earlier ratification of the document by the Kazakh side.
