04 Martha 2010, 14:32 Almaty to host XXII Asian-Pacific Mathematics Olympiad and IX Mathematics Silk Road Olympiad ALMATY. March 4. KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ Two international olympiads - XXII Asian-Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO) and IX Mathematics Silk Road Olympiad (MOSR) will take place in Almaty on March, 8-10. The organizers of the event are Daryn Republican Research Center and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Several countries as Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, Chili, Columbia, Costa Rika, Ecuador, Salvador, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkmenistan, the USA, Honduras, South Africa, Turkey and Uruguay will take part in XXII Asian-Pacific Mathematics Olympiad. The countries situated along the Silk Road as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, China and others will take part in IX Mathematics Silk Road Olympiad. Both Olympiads are held remotely. The distant form of the olympiads let a great number of school students take part in these prestigious international competitions. This year about 100 Kazakh senior school students will take part in the competition.
