Majilis considered amendments to legislation on state control in oil industry
ASTANA. February 16. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament has considered the draft Law "On amendments to some legislative acts on enhancement of state control in oil industry" today at the session of the Committee for foreign affairs, defense and security.

"The draft Law is developed to struggle against oil stealing made through illegal tapping of pipeline", - Deputy Valery Kotovich said.

He noted that the amendments were developed according to the instruction of Nur Otan Party's leadership. According to him, despite the measures taken to provide guarding of oil pipelines the situation with oil stealing is getting worse. The draft Law is aimed at elimination of gaps in acting legislation which allow those individuals dealing with illegal tapping of pipeline avoid the criminal responsibility.

After the discussion the Committee decided to support the draft Law.
