85 schools launched within “100 schools, 100 hospitals” program – Z.Tuimebayev
 ALMATY. February 12. KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ 85 schools were put into service, 1,451 schools were repaired, 3 intellectual schools under the Kazakh President  and 107 schools for talented children were opened within the 100 schools, 100 hospitals program as of January 1, 2010. Minister of Education and Science Zhanseit Tuimebayev has announced it at the meeting with NGOs leaders working in the education sphere.

7,801 schools were functioning in the country, in which 2,524,344 school students studied, in the 2008-2009 school year. Over the last three years 254 educational schools were constructed in the republic. In 2009 60 schools were launched by the funds of the national budget, and 27 - local budget.

Z.Tuimebayev noted that in accordance with the President's commission there will be created a network of intellectual schools of N.Nazarbayev, which will implement integrated programs of physico-mathematical and chemico-biological directions. Three such schools function in Astana, Kokshetau and Semey. In 2010-2011 two similar schools will be opened in Taldykorgan and Ust-Kamenogorsk.
