ASTANA. January 21. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Joint Kazakhstan-Australian genetics laboratory on grain varieties will be created with the participation of "KazAgroInnovatsiya" JSC; President of the Company Bayan Alimgazinova has informed of it today at the visiting session of the committee on agrarian issues and environment of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament to "KazAgroInnovatsiya" JSC.  

"Every third year there is dry weather therefore the problem of drought-resistance is topical for us", - she said.

According to her, the creation of the joint laboratory was initiated by the Australian side. Scientists from Kazakhstan, specialists in biotechnology and molecular biology are working in Australia for about twenty years. The laboratory will carry out investigations in genetics of grain varieties aimed at nurture drought resistance grain varieties.
