12 projects are being implemented in Kazakhstan under auspices of world organizations
ASTANA. January 20. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ 12 full-fledged projects amounted to USD 100 mln are being implemented in Kazakhstan under the auspices of the Global Environmental Facility and other international organizations; Kazakh Minister of Environmental Protection Nurgali Ashimov has said it today at the extended session of the collegium of the Ministry.

"They are the projects on preservation of wetlands, mountain biodiversity as well as the biological diversity of Altai-Sayan region", he noted.

Besides, according to him last year the Ministry forwarded request to the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and received approval for the implementation of several projects on promotion of energy-saving illumination devices in Kazakhstan as well as elimination of persistent organic pollutants.
