ASTANA.  January 19. KAZINFORM  /Damir Baimanov/ 2 mln 500 thousand Kazakhstanis go in for sport to date. Minister of Tourism and Sport Temirkhan Dosmukhambetov has voiced these data at the sitting of the Ministry's board in Astana January 19.

As the Minister says, the number of the people regularly going in for sport has risen by 95 thousand and reached 2 mln 500 thousand to date.

Over 30 thousand sports facilities are functioning countrywide today which allows employing 36 thousand people the Minister informs.

"In 2009 there were organized more than 15 thousand health and fitness and sports events. Over 2 mln people took part in them", T. Dosmukhametov added.
