PM promised to raise bonus payments for medal winners in case of Kazakhstan's successful performance at Winter Olympics in Canada
 ASTANA.  January 19. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Today within the enlarged meeting of the board of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism Prime Minister Karim Massimov promised to support the Ministry's claim on raising the payments for the medal winners in case of Kazakh sportsmen's successful performance at Winter Games in Canada.

"Taking into consideration the growing competition in achievement of high sport results in the world I urge you to solve the issue of raising the sizes of average one-time payment for the gold medals: from USD 7, 000 to USD 15, 000 at the world championships, from USD 3, 500 to USD 10, 000 at the Asian Games and the Youth Olympic Games", Minister Temirkhan Dozmukhambetov said addressing the Premier.

According to him, the additional sum of expenditures from the national budget will make KZT 33.5 mln.

In turn, the Head of the Government expressed hope for Kazakhstani sportsmen's good performance at the Winter Olympics in Canada. "I hope you will reach high results at the games", he noted.

"If you win medals at these Games I will support your proposition", K. Massimov said.
