ASTANA. December 20. KAZINFORM A reception devoted to the 18 anniversary of the Day of Independence of Kazakhstan organized by the Kazakh Embassy was held in Madrid, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

Kazakh ambassador Yergali Bulegenov told about the process of political, economic reforms, achievements of Kazakhstan during the years of independence and complimented the development of the Kazakh-Spanish relations. Special emphasis was laid on the coming Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship in 2010.

Y.Bulegenov informed the guests on the main priorities of the Kazakhstan's chairmanship on all dimensions of the Organization activity, including the Kazakh initiative on organization of the OSCE Summit in Astana in 2010. The importance of coordination of the activities of Kazakhstan at the OSCE chairman and Spain at the EU chairman posts was stressed as well.

Representatives of the Royal Court of Spain, the Spanish Government, Ministries, departments      and community, the diplomatic corps and the Kazakh Diaspora took part in the event.
