“Customs Union: New Opportunities or Treats for Business” workshop held in Almaty
ALMATY. December 4. KAZINFORM /Yekaterina Ionova/ "Customs Union: New Opportunities or Treats for Business" workshop was held in Almaty.

Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus will enter the Customs Union beginning from January 1, 2009. As the participants of the workshop noted, a range of experts and businessmen emphasis high probability of problems, connected with unequal opportunities for Kazakh companies in competition with foreign companies.

Discussion of advantages and risks of entrance to the Customs Union, development of modern approaches to settlement of possible problems was held at the workshop. Efficient mechanisms of promotion of the competitive ability of the domestic business and economy were discussed as well.

The results of the discussions will be submitted to responsible state authorities and presented to the business community and society in form of proposals and recommendations.
