New terminal of Astana airport to open in March of 2017

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A new terminal of the Astana airport will be opened in March of 2017, Vice President of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" JSC Roman Sklyar informed at the CCS press conference in Astana.

According to him, the funds are allocated from the National Fund for implementation of the project on construction of a new terminal and reconstruction of the runway of the airport. Besides, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will extend a loan for these purposes as well as "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" JSC plans to co-finance the project.

"As of today, the work on demolition of the old building is completed. The infrastructure of the old building is being dismantled and modernized for the new one. The construction of the new airport apron has already begun," he informed.

The work on internal and external decoration will be done in 2016.

"Besides, we will repair the runway of the airport, taxi lanes and aircraft's parking positions. The whole project will be completed in March of 2017," he added.
