Military-technical cooperation within CSTO reaches new level: D.Medvedev

MOSCOW. December 10. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Military-technical cooperation within the CSTO reaches a new level. Russian President Dmitri Medvedev said at the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Moscow on Friday.

As the Russian President said that the events in Kyrgyzstan showed that it was necessary to increase effectiveness of the Organization in countering modern challenges. "For this purpose the decision on introduction amendments to our foundation documents was made in Erevan", he said. D.Medvedev noted that the establishment of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces was an important event for the Organization. According to the Russian President, the formation of the CSTO peacekeeping forces consisting of 3.5 thousand people is underway now as well as preparation to the peacekeeping operation.
