Memos to 20 mln euros signed, VIII Congress of Innovation in Astana

ASTANA. May 24. KAZINFORM - In the framework of the VI Astana Economic Forum there has been opened VIII Innovative Congress named "Innovative Development of Kazakhstan - on the way to a knowledge economy." Congress organizers are the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan and "National Agency for Technological Development" JSC.

Innovative Congress brought together about 400 international and Kazakh experts, representatives of the Government and local authorities, heads of national holding and national companies, development institutions and research institutes, businesses, and other innovative entrepreneurs.

This year's program includes a plenary session of the Congress on development of the national innovation system as a response to global challenges and two panel sessions: "Cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union through innovation" and "Technological problems of the real sector of the economy of Kazakhstan."

As part of the event for the first time there have been opened two exhibitions of innovative projects.

During the Congress 13 memoranda have been signed with the economic effect of about 20 million euros. In particular, the agreement on the establishment of the Kazakh-American Center for Technology Transfer, an agreement on the implementation technology of production of rubber from dandelion, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of higher education of engineering and technical personnel of enterprises of Kazakhstan on the basis of a special economic zone called "Park of innovative technologies."
