ASTANA. March 28. KAZINFORM Macedonia welcomes investments of Kazakhstani companies into its oil and gas industry.

Non-resident ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia Darko Angelov told a briefing in Astana on Thursday after presenting credentials to Kazakhstan's Secretary of State Marat Tazhin.

"The all-round cooperation between Kazakhstan and Macedonia has gained momentum over the last couple of years. President of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov visited Kazakhstan in July 2012 at the invitation of Nursultan Nazarbayev. During the visit, the sides signed the basic agreements, including agreements in the economic sphere. In addition, Macedonia canceled visa regime for Kazakhstani citizens. And I would like to take this opportunity to invite all Kazakhstanis to come and visit Macedonia," Mr. Angelov said.

The Macedonian diplomat also mentioned that in the course of the meeting with the Kazakh Secretary of State they mapped out key spheres for cooperation, but set out the economy as the priority.

"Macedonia would gladly cooperate with Kazakhstan in the pharmaceutical sector. We also very much welcome investments of Kazakhstani companies into the Macedonian oil and gas industry," he added.
