Kyrgyzstan confirms its political will to join Customs Union

ASTANA. September 25. KAZINFORM Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zhantoro Satybaldiyev confirmed the political will of his country to follow the path of economic integration into the Eurasian economic space.

It was made public at the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana on Wednesday that brought together PMs of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

"Kyrgyzstan positively estimated the signing of the memorandum of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Eurasian Economic Commission. Again, I would like to express the political will of Kyrgyzstan to join the Customs Union and continue the negotiation process," the Kyrgyz Prime Minister said.

"The process of integration into the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan is aimed at raising of living standards of our population, stimulating sustainable economic growth in the mid-term and long-term," the head of the Kyrgyz Government added.

In his words, the integration processes in the Eurasian space offer great perspectives for the development of Kyrgyz economy, including access to bigger Eurasian markets, more investments, and introduction of modern technologies. "As a result," Satybaldiyev said, "it will ensure the sustainable growth of Kyrgyz economy."
