Kazakhstan's OIC presidency should strengthen Asian sector of our foreign policy - N. Nazarbayev

ASTANA. January 28. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The presidency over the Organization of Islamic Conference should strengthen the Asian sector of our foreign policy. Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the joint session of the Houses of the Parliament delivering his annual Address to the Nation.

'We will preside over the Organization of Islamic Conference this year. We have an initiative of strengthening a dialogue between the West and Islamic world', the President noted.

He also noted that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit would be held this summer in Astana.

'The SCO was established with our active participation and we are now responsible for exerting efforts for its strengthening', the Head of State noted.

N. Nazarbayev emphasized that it would become a contribution of Kazakhstan to strengthening regional and global security.
